Astraguard has been a pioneer of PC-based video imaging technology since 1983. Today, its breakthrough software for video detection, analysis and compression is set to become a new industry standard − radically reducing the time and cost involved with surveillance. Astraguard integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructures, delivering tailored solutions for advanced video detection, storage, transmission and management. Its modular design allows for endless adaptability: customised plug-ins offer unlimited user-defined solutions, from number plate recognition to production line quality control with total alarm management. Astraguard technology can be found installed in Local and National Government including the Police service, Customs and Excise and the Category 'A' prisons in England. Other customers include high-end industrial and commercial organisations such as Rolex and the Bank of England. |
In the summer of 2007 Astraguard was organized in a new structure with new investors. The "old" company Astraguard Ltd is located in south of England, and is now a daughter company 100 % owned by Astraguard Group AS, located in Oslo, Norway. The new structure is shown under "contact us". The Astraguard R&D team in Sevenoaks is the heart of technology and product development for marketing and sales worldwide. The Managing Director of Astraguard Ltd. is Dr. Janet Jones who has 20 years experience in running small companies and in project management. Originally an academic, she has a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Cambridge University. This followed on from her B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in obtained Australia. She also holds an MBA from the Open University. It is her research work during her post-doctoral years at Cambridge that was brought over into automated image analysis, that lay at the foundation of Astraguard's technology. The Technical Director is Bernard Jones who is Professor at the University of Gröningen in the Netherlands. Bernard has a PhD from Cambridge University, and has been directing academic research projects for40 years. Bernard has been involved in commercial research projects for 20 years. He is a scientist of international repute. Much of their work is focussed on advanced research and development in dynamic imaging .In 2007, Astraguard won the Kent Land Securities 'Innovation In Business Award'. |
